Choose PDF compression by the features you need to keep
Maximum mode renders each page as an image and builds a new PDF. That changes the document: text is no longer selectable, and links, interactive forms, and original digital signatures are not retained as working features. The result may be useful as a visual reference copy, but it is not a substitute for an interactive or signed original. File size reduction depends on the source and settings.
Smart mode attempts to recompress supported embedded image streams, then re saves the PDF. It retains existing page content rather than rasterizing every page, but that does not guarantee that all forms, annotations, bookmarks, metadata, or digital signatures remain valid. Savings vary and image detail can change. Compare the file size, inspect the features you need, and keep the original document.

PDFs hosted on your site count toward overall page weight when they appear in iframes, embeds, or as direct downloads from above the fold content. Choose the PDF operation that fits the document
A PDF may contain text, images, links, forms, and other features that matter to the recipient. A smaller file is useful only if the document still communicates what it needs to. Keep the original, inspect the result, and use a separate copy when experimenting with a setting that changes the page’s structure.
Send a manageable document packet
Merge the relevant PDFs in the order the recipient needs to read them. Keep unrelated pages out of the packet. A clear sequence and understandable filename can save more recipient effort than compressing a disorganized bundle by a few additional kilobytes.
Reduce a heavy scanned document
Try compression on a copy and compare size and readability. Image heavy PDFs and text heavy PDFs behave differently. If a file is already efficiently encoded, another pass may make little difference or even produce a larger output.
Create useful page previews
Export PDF pages as PNG or JPEG images for a preview or reference. This renders the complete page; it does not extract each original embedded image object. Choose a resolution suited to the display size rather than always selecting the largest output.

Use a compression mode that fits the features you need to preserve. A mode that renders pages as images changes how text and other page features behave. For page image export, select an output format and suitable DPI after considering the recipient’s use.

Watch for an error or completed result. Compare the reported sizes where available, then open the output. Check page order, text legibility, orientation, important images, and the document features your workflow depends on before deleting any working copies.

Open the nine page output and verify all sections. If only the pricing pages are needed for another reviewer, split those pages into a separate copy. Check any links, forms, and document level features after either operation.
Compression is a tradeoff to inspect
Text preserving compression and page rasterization are different operations. The Smart path selectively re encodes supported image objects; it is intentionally cautious about incompatible cases. Maximum compression can change selectable text and interactive features because it rebuilds pages from rendered images.
A website PDF still needs a clear entry point
Explain what the download contains and why someone needs it. A normal link does not necessarily download the PDF until selected, whereas an embedded viewer can load it with the page. Consider an HTML summary for visitors who only need the main answer.
Questions & limits
All document operations run in the browser, so large jobs depend on available memory and device capability. PDF to image export supports up to 100 pages, with per page rendering and total output size guards; reduce DPI or split large documents if needed.
Do not assume all form behavior, bookmarks, accessibility information, or digital signatures survive a transformation. Keep the original and inspect the features that matter. This toolkit does not provide optical character recognition or PDF to Word conversion.
Can it guarantee a PDF under 100 KB?
No. The achievable size depends on the document and the features you need to keep. Removing pages, resizing images, or rasterizing can change the result, but a hard byte target may be incompatible with acceptable readability.
Will merging PDFs preserve digital signatures?
Do not rely on that. Merging changes the document and document level features may not carry over. Keep the signed originals and use the process required by the recipient for signed or integrity sensitive material.
Does PDF to Images extract the original photos?
It renders each complete PDF page into an image. If a page has text and several photos, the output contains the whole layout together. It is not an embedded image extraction utility.
Why did my compressed PDF become larger?
The source may already be efficient, or the selected conversion may introduce a less suitable representation. Compare the actual output and keep the smaller acceptable original when the new file offers no benefit.
Will my documents leave this browser?
The file processing operations are local to this tool. Website assets still need to load normally, but the selected PDF is not sent to a processing server by these operations. On a shared device, manage downloaded documents through your usual file handling process.
