A full RFQ inbox can still waste an estimator's week. One request needs a process you don't run, another leaves out quantity, and a third wants a production contract from a job shop. We'd rather your site turn those away than have your estimator chase them.
Our first step is your RFQ pile. We go through a batch of recent requests with your estimator and sort them into quoted, chased and passed.
Next we rewrite the capability pages around the processes, materials and run sizes behind the quoted ones. Then the RFQ form asks for whatever the estimator chased most. Search ads come last, aimed only at work those pages describe.
Metal fabrication marketing FAQs
What does metal fabrication marketing cost?
Capability pages, RFQ forms and search ads for a fabrication shop are priced after the free strategy call, since a two-person job shop and a production shop need very different builds. If you're starting the website over, the Marketing Startup Kit is published at $7,997 and includes a custom 15 page site with schema and technical SEO.
Can you help us attract more suitable RFQs?
Yes, mostly by being plain about what you don't do. Each capability page lists the processes, materials and run sizes you take, plus one line on work you pass on. Your team still decides what to quote.
What if our project examples are confidential?
Then we describe the work without the customer: process, material, part size and run quantity, with no name or drawing. Names and photos go up only with the customer's permission. We'd leave a gap empty before filling it with a made-up project.
Can we target repeat production rather than one off work?
Yes, if that's the work you want more of. Production gets its own page explaining how repeat orders are scheduled at your shop, with a form that asks expected annual volume. We count those requests apart from one-off jobs.
Should the website accept technical files?
Only if someone checks them and you have a secure place to keep them. A simpler route is a form question asking whether drawings exist, then an upload link once the job looks like a fit. Either way, the page should say who reviews files.
What's in the first round of work?
Usually the capability pages buyers land on, a rebuilt RFQ form and search ads aimed at the work those pages describe. You approve every capability claim and example before it's published.
Run the free metal fabrication marketing audit on your capabilities page, then bring the results to the free strategy call.
Can you work from our existing fabrication website?
Often, yes. We'd start with the pages buyers actually land on, usually the capability and contact pages, and fix the RFQ route before touching anything else. If the site can't be edited sensibly, the free strategy call is where we'd tell you.
Is there a minimum contract?
There's no published minimum term for custom fabrication marketing. Jeff sets the scope with you directly, so tell him if a slow quarter or a big contract ending is coming, since that timing shapes which pages, forms and campaigns are worth starting first.
What should I bring to the first call?
Bring one RFQ that needed three rounds of questions and one you could quote straight away, with customer details removed. The call is free, and during business hours we aim to reply within five minutes of your request. Comparing those two RFQs shows us what the form should ask and what the capability pages have to explain.
What if better pages bring in fewer RFQs?
A smaller request count can be useful if it saves estimator time and still produces suitable work. We'd record each RFQ as waiting on details, quoted, declined for fit or won, with the reason for a decline. That lets your shop check whether a form change removed unsuitable requests or made a good buyer give up. The count alone can't answer that.
Does our shop's location matter for SEO?
Yes, for buyers who want a fabricator within driving distance. A shop near I-65 south of Indianapolis sits close to Franklin Tech Park and the industrial parks on Franklin's east side, and a page naming the corridor you deliver to helps a nearby buyer shortlist you. For national work, the capability pages carry more weight than the address.
Do you only market Indiana fabrication shops?
No. We're based in Indianapolis, our service area takes in Greenwood, Fishers, Westfield, Zionsville and Avon, and we take on businesses in other states remotely. For a shop in another state, we'd build the capability pages the same way and name that region's own industrial corridors.
“…drove a noticeable uptick in leads within just a few weeks…”
“I had a great experience working with Jeff…”

A PRACTICAL MARKETING WORKSHOPMake a fabrication RFQ arrive with usable context
Open this walkthroughClose this walkthrough
Fabrication buyers need to establish whether a shop’s capabilities fit their request and how to begin a review without exposing project details publicly. We would organize the site around the work the business actually accepts, then provide a deliberate request for quote introduction. A capability page should show the shop’s verified role and relevant examples. It should not treat every material, process, tolerance, or production volume as available simply because those terms attract searches.
Worked example · hypothetical planning scenario
Imagine a hypothetical fabrication shop receiving a picture with “How much?” but no quantity, intended engagement, or available drawing. We would create an RFQ introduction asking for broad project type, quantity context, desired review timing, and whether documents are available. File exchange follows an agreed route with appropriate access; the public form does not need proprietary specifications. A sample project story can identify whether the shop fabricated from supplied drawings or participated in another approved scope. The sales record distinguishes requests awaiting information, accepted quote reviews, declined fit, proposals issued, and orders. That makes a higher count of incomplete uploads less impressive than a smaller number of requests the shop can actually evaluate.
| Buyer has | Website explains | Next decision |
|---|---|---|
| An idea or reference image | Whether exploratory project discussions are offered | What information is needed to review fit? |
| Prepared project documents | RFQ contact and document handoff | Can the shop evaluate this request? |
| A repeat or production requirement | Relevant capability and account route | Who reviews quantity and engagement context? |
Create a capability proof inventory
- List verified processes, materials, project types, and service boundaries with the shop lead responsible for approving each description.
- Choose photographs that show the company’s actual work and omit customer designs or identifiers not cleared for publication.
- Document the minimum RFQ context the sales team uses and avoid collecting sensitive drawings before the appropriate exchange process is established.
- Separate fabrication customers from employment, raw material purchasing, equipment sales, and unsupported consumer repair requests in the inquiry reporting.
Improve one RFQ before increasing traffic
Bring a redacted request that needed repeated clarification and an example of a useful one. Trojan Digital Marketing can turn those differences into capability content and an RFQ workflow that respects the shop’s real review process.
Where are the manufacturing buyers near Indianapolis?
Metal fabrication marketing near Indianapolis can name real industrial corridors, like Franklin's I-65 interchange and Lebanon's LEAP District, where public reports show manufacturing investment.
Franklin and Lebanon, Indiana
KYB Americas, maker of shocks and struts for Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Subaru and Mitsubishi plus the aftermarket, is headquartered in Franklin and says its Franklin plant employs more than 700 people.
A shop that already supplies manufacturers south of Indianapolis can name that corridor on its capability pages, without implying any named plant is a customer.
KYB Americas LLC, 'KYB Americas' and Careers pagesChecked September 25, 2026Franklin Tech Park is a 345-acre business park in the southeast quadrant of I-65 and State Road 44, where industrial development at the interchange largely began in 2001.
Naming the interchange your trucks deliver to tells a nearby buyer you're in range before they open the RFQ form.
Indianapolis Business Journal, 'Warehouse growth heads south to Franklin'Checked September 25, 2026IBJ reported that Franklin's east side had about 4 million square feet of industrial space in use or under construction, a figure expected to nearly triple as developers built parks for logistics and advanced manufacturing near I-65.
New plants bring managers who haven't picked their fabricators yet, and that's the moment being easy to find in search pays off.
Indianapolis Business Journal, 'Warehouse growth heads south to Franklin'Checked September 25, 2026In May 2026 Lilly announced another 4.5 billion dollars for its LEAP District manufacturing site in Lebanon, about 28 miles northwest of Indianapolis.
Large plant builds can bring contractors and purchasing teams sending RFQs, so write for a buyer who wants capabilities and lead time wording on one page.

Public reports about the area's industry, used to aim pages and ads. No company named here is one of our clients, and a shop's page should never suggest a named plant buys from it unless it does.
How would we rebuild a fabrication RFQ route?
Rebuilding a metal fabrication RFQ route for an Indiana shop runs in a set order, starting with your estimator's real requests and ending with search ads pointed at work you want.
- Two real RFQsYou share one request that needed repeated clarification and one you could quote straight away, with customer details removed.
- Capability inventoryTogether we list the processes and materials the shop really runs, and your shop lead signs off on each line before it's published.
- RFQ form and file handoffWe build a short form asking for quantity and whether drawings exist, with the drawings themselves moving through the exchange route you choose.
- Search ads on one capabilityAds start on a single capability you want to grow, so the first data shows whether incoming RFQs are ones you'd quote.
- Review by fitEvery RFQ gets sorted as waiting on details, quoted, declined for fit or won, and the pages and keywords change from that list.
Who reads a fabrication capability page?
A metal fabrication website serving Indiana buyers gets read by several different people, and each one needs a different answer before an RFQ goes out.
| Reader | What they check first | What sends them away |
|---|---|---|
| Design engineer | Real tolerances and the material thickness range you work in | A capability list that claims every process there is |
| Purchasing or supply chain buyer | Lead time wording and who to send the RFQ to | A form that demands drawings before any contact |
| Contractor's project manager | Whether you install on site or ship finished pieces | No word on field work at all |
| Plant maintenance manager | Turnaround on one-off and replacement parts | Pages written only for production volume |
Lead with capability the buyer can evaluate
- Fit
- Explain the service scope.
- Trust
- Show supporting evidence.
- Next step
- Give a clear contact route.
A list of machines or broad services can be useful background, but a buyer still needs to understand the work your business accepts. Organize the offer around actual capabilities, project categories, customer needs, and engagement models. Technical descriptions and limits should be approved by the appropriate team.

Distinguish custom project work, repeat production, selected repair or modification work, and other genuine offers where their quoting processes differ. Do not imply that the company can provide every metalworking service simply because the terms attract search traffic.
A fabrication website project can connect capability pages with relevant examples and a clear RFQ route. The visitor should understand the company's role before investing time in preparing an inquiry.
Write for the person making the buying decision
A technical contact, purchasing professional, business owner, and existing customer may approach the fabricator with different questions. The website should support the information each needs without pretending every visitor is ready to submit the same complete specification.
| Buyer context | Question before an RFQ | Useful marketing response |
|---|---|---|
| Technical project contact | Does the company offer the relevant capability? | Accurate capability information and a review route |
| Purchasing contact | How does the business evaluate and continue a supplier conversation? | Clear company information and inquiry expectations |
| Custom project buyer | What information should I prepare? | A plain language project brief |
| Existing account | How do we discuss another requirement? | A continuation of the established account process |
These are audience planning examples, not assumptions about your sales organization. We confirm which buyer roles matter and which person in your business should receive each kind of request.
Make the RFQ route useful without making it burdensome
A first inquiry can identify the buyer, company, requested work, project stage, broad quantity context where relevant, timing, and the information available for review. The goal is to determine whether a useful next conversation exists.
Some buyers can provide detailed documents immediately; others need to establish fit before sharing them. Explain the business's approved route for project files and sensitive information. A public marketing form should not encourage people to upload material without understanding how the company intends to handle it.
Technical review and quoting remain the fabricator's responsibility. The website should not imply that a submitted file has been assessed or that an automated acknowledgment establishes production acceptance. The confirmation should describe the actual next step.
A hypothetical RFQ readiness brief
- Identify the buyer and their role in the project.
- Describe the requested capability in the buyer's own words.
- Record the project stage and broad quantity or repeat work context where relevant.
- Identify the timing question the buyer needs to resolve.
- Note what information is available and how it will be shared through the approved process.
- Assign the person who decides whether to continue, request clarification, or decline.
This brief can reduce avoidable back and forth without forcing a rigid questionnaire onto every buyer. The business decides which details are necessary for each capability and project category.
Show examples with accurate role and permission
A project image or finished part should explain what your company actually provided and what the example demonstrates. Do not let a photograph imply a capability, production scale, or customer relationship that has not been approved for public use.

Google's image guidance emphasizes relevant descriptive context. For fabrication content, that can mean accurate captions, clear role descriptions, and images placed beside the capability they illustrate.
Some work cannot be shown publicly. The content plan can use an approved level of detail, company process information, or other evidence the business can substantiate. It should not invent an anonymous case study to fill the gap.
Keep customer names, designs, drawings, and project details within the permissions the business has confirmed. The marketing approval process should identify who can authorize each asset before it is published.
Distinguish adjacent industrial offers
A fabrication company may also provide selected equipment repair or serve buyers in commercial kitchens and other specialized settings. The website should explain those genuine relationships without treating the industries as proof that every associated service is available.
Industrial equipment repair marketing has a different service response journey. Commercial kitchen services marketing needs clear distinctions among planned work, current service needs, and ongoing accounts.
Contextual links can help a business evaluate related marketing approaches. Within your own website, the same principle applies: connect real capabilities while keeping the role and scope of each offer clear.
Metal fabrication SEO, AEO, and GEO
Search content should match the capabilities and buyer questions the company can answer accurately. A useful page may explain the projects accepted, how an RFQ is reviewed, or what information helps a first conversation. Those answers should come from the business's own practice.

Our SEO, AEO, GEO, and AI SEO services organize capability information and supporting evidence into a clear structure. We distinguish buyer intent from employment, training, products, and unrelated research where those do not match the commercial objective.
Google recommends descriptive, distinct titles. We use that principle to make capability pages understandable rather than packing every fabrication phrase into one heading. AI Overviews and other answer systems can be observed, but inclusion is not a promised deliverable.
Describe the market the business can actually serve
A fabrication business may work locally, regionally, or with buyers farther away under a defined operating arrangement. The website should explain the actual coverage and engagement model. Broad digital reach is not the same as a local office in every market.

Use genuine project and capability evidence to support expansion. If the company is entering a new market, describe the current offer accurately rather than inventing local history. A substantive capability page may be more useful than many near identical city pages.
The market decision should also consider the projects the business wants. A wider territory can create inquiries with different coordination or delivery requirements. Marketing should follow the company's approved commercial boundaries.
Use paid campaigns to test a defined capability
Fabrication PPC works best as a reviewable test when the business has a clear offer, an appropriate destination, and the capacity to evaluate the response. The campaign should identify the capability and buyer intent it is intended to support.

A paid advertising scope can include intent review, exclusions, RFQ page requirements, spending boundaries, and stage definitions. The office should report whether requests contain useful context and fit the capability being promoted.
Do not evaluate the campaign only by cost per form. A low cost request that requires extensive clarification for work outside the offer may consume more resources than it appears. The business outcome and pursuit effort belong beside the media metrics.
Measure quote readiness and production fit
Track valid buyer inquiries, qualified opportunities, review ready RFQs, quotes pursued, accepted work, and completed outcomes where available. Distinguish a new account from another requirement within an existing relationship.

In a hypothetical comparison, two sources each produce five RFQs. One group fits a preferred repeat work capability and provides useful initial context. The other mostly requests unsupported work and requires extensive clarification. Equal RFQ counts would hide a material difference in sales effort.
The company should also review production capacity and timing. A commercially attractive request can still be poorly aligned with current commitments. Record that reason separately so the marketing team does not interpret every declined request as a targeting failure.
Keep the channel under practical business control
The owned channel framework explains the assets and responsibilities behind a business controlled website. Domain control, content, accounts, and routing should be documented and demonstrated.

The account inventory guide helps identify the systems supporting RFQ delivery and reporting. The measurement guide keeps retained assets separate from commercial performance.
That separation gives the owner a useful review: can the business continue operating the channel, and is it producing suitable opportunities? A positive answer to one does not automatically establish the other.
Review one completed RFQ handoff with sales and the person responsible for quoting. Check whether the initial record preserved the buyer role, requested capability, and missing information. That review can identify a practical intake improvement before the business invests in a broader campaign.
A hypothetical first 90 days
Days 1 to 30: define preferred capabilities, buyer roles, market coverage, and the RFQ review process. Inventory approved project evidence and identify unclear claims or missing information. Test the inquiry route and establish baseline stages.
Days 31 to 60: publish priority capability content, improve the RFQ experience, and connect office feedback with reporting. Begin a focused campaign where the offer, budget, and response capacity support a useful evaluation.
Days 61 to 90: review quote readiness, pursuit effort, accepted work, and capacity constraints. Choose the next capability or market priority from the evidence. This is an example work plan, not a promise of RFQ volume or search positions.
