What the extension reads
When you choose Check this page, Trojan Website Checker reads the current tab's full URL and page title, selected metadata, headings, image URLs and alt attributes, anchor-link destinations and text, link attributes, and JSON-LD markup for syntax and type checks. It processes this information locally in your browser to display a report.
This is access to the page you choose to inspect. The extension does not read your browser's browsing-history database, other open tabs, form-field values, passwords or cookies. It does not scan in the background or fetch linked pages.
Use, storage and sharing
The extension uses page information only to provide the inspection you request and reports you choose to export. It does not transmit scan information to Trojan Digital Marketing or another server. It has no analytics, ads, account login or remote code.
Results remain in the popup's working memory until the popup closes or a new scan replaces them. The extension does not save scan history. Text and JSON reports you choose to download go through your browser's normal download process and remain until you delete them. Your browser, operating system or backup software may handle downloaded files independently.
Reports can contain private page URLs, headings, metadata and link text. Review them before sharing. If you send a report to support, you are choosing to share its contents with Trojan Digital Marketing by email.
Limited Use
Trojan Website Checker complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Page information is used only for the user-requested inspection and export features. It is not sold or transferred for advertising, unrelated purposes, creditworthiness or lending decisions.
Browser permissions
- activeTab: grants temporary access to the current page after you invoke the extension.
- scripting: runs the packaged, read-only inspection function in that tab.
The extension does not request ongoing access to all websites.
Website links
Opening a link is optional. The extension does not attach your scan data to outbound links. A destination website handles your visit under its own privacy policy and can receive ordinary request information, such as your IP address. This policy describes the extension; visits to Trojan Digital Marketing's website are covered by the website privacy policy.
